The purpose of this research is to examine the whistleblowing behaviour preferences of vice-principals and teachers with the case studies determined in respect of ethical/illegal behaviours that may occur in schools. What is investigated herein is whether viceprincipals and teachers are prone to denounce a colleague of theirs, who committed any one of the illegal/immoral acts that may occur at schools as being educational institutions, such as fraud, unfairness, manipulating his/her pupils in line with ideological opinions, developing sexual intimacy with a pupil of his/hers, etc., whether they have come across such an incident, and if so, how they responded to it. The study group of this research, having been performed in qualitative model and phenomenological design, is composed of 7 vice-principals and 11 teachers, having been serving at the high-school level in Onikişubat District of Kahramanmaraş City as of the educational year of 2017-2018. It has been ascertained as a result of the research that the viceprincipals are prone to prefer mostly formal and external whistleblowing behaviours, while the teachers are prone to prefer mostly informal and internal whistleblowing behaviours. It is further ascertained as a result of the research that, the participants, who encountered similar incidents, and filed respective complaints to the relevant authorities, but gained no result, are prone to remain silent, and not to respond to the situation in case they are to come across a similar incident again.
Bu araştırmanın amacı, müdür yardımcıları ve öğretmenlerin okullarda ortaya çıkabilecek etik/ yasa dışı olan davranışlara ilişkin belirlenmiş örnek olaylarla bilgi uçurma davranış tercihlerini incelemektedir. Araştırmada birer eğitim kurumları olan okullarda yaşanabilecek yolsuzluk, haksızlık, öğrencileri ideolojik fikirler doğrultusunda yönlendirme ve öğrencisiyle cinsel yakınlık kurma gibi yasal/etik dışı davranışların herhangi birini gösteren çalışma arkadaşını müdür yardımcısı ve öğretmenlerin ihbar edip etmeyecekleri, daha önce böyle bir olayla karşılaşıp karşılaşmadıkları, karşılaşmaları halinde ne yaptıkları sorgulanmıştır. Nitel modelde ve olgubilim deseninde gerçekleştirilen bu araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2017-2018 eğitim öğretim yılı Kahramanmaraş ili Onikişubat ilçesinde lise kademesinde görev yapan 7 müdür yardımcısı ve 11 öğretmen oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma sonucunda müdür yardımcılarının etik/yasa dışı davranışlara karşı daha çok formal ve dışsal bilgi uçurma davranışı gösterecekleri; öğretmenlerin ise informal ve içsel bilgi uçurma davranışı gösterecekleri tespit edilmiştir. Araştırmada daha önce benzer bir hadise yaşamış ilgili mercilere şikâyette bulunmuş ancak hiçbir sonuç alamamış katılımcıların ise belirtilen örnek olaylarla bir daha karşılaşma durumunda sessiz kalacakları ve duruma hiçbir müdahalede bulunmayacakları tespit edilmiştir.
