Bu araştırma makalesinde Cumhuriyet Dönemi Türk şiirinin 1950-1980 dönemindeki çocuk ve çocukluk temsillerine odaklanılmış olup çocuğun şiirsel anlatımdaki yerini, anlam katmanlarını ve dönemin toplumsal atmosferiyle ilişkisini göstermek amaçlanmıştır. Cumhuriyet dönemi şiirinde çocuk, entelektüel alanda ve toplum yaşamında da benzerine rastlandığı üzere yalnızca nostaljik bir ögeyi değil; aynı zamanda toplumsal beklentileri, ideolojik çatışmaları, güçlü aile yapısını, şiirsel dil arayışları ile kültürel dönüşümleri ele alan çok yönlü bir temsille işlenmiştir. Bu bağlamda bu araştırmada 1950-1980 dönemi şiirinde çocukluk temsillerini teşkil eden temalar masumiyet, umut ve direniş başlıkları altında analiz edilmiştir. Bu makalede dönem şiirinde çocuk imgesinin nasıl yeniden üretildiği içerik analizi yöntemiyle ele alınırken Stuart Hall’un temsil kuramı ile Philippe Ariès ve Chris Jenks gibi isimlerin öncülüğünü yaptığı çocukluk sosyolojisi yaklaşımlarından yararlanılmıştır. Bu sayede, şiirde çocukluğun tarihsel bir inşa süreci ve kültürel bir semboller alanı olarak nasıl ele alınmış olduğu sorusuna cevap aranmıştır. Masumiyet, umut ve direniş kavramlarının kapsadığı şiirdeki çocuk temsilleri üzerinden ortak bellek, ideolojik beklentiler ve poetik dönüşümün izleri sürülmüştür. Analizlerin sonucunda; 1950’lerde daha çok ev, aile ve bireyin iç dünyası bağlamında yer alan çocuğun, 1960’larda toplumsal değişimler, çatışma ve toplumcu idealler doğrultusunda geleceği temsil eden bir sembole dönüştüğü, 1970’lerde ise çok kutuplu siyasal ve toplumsal gelişmelerin etkisiyle bir direniş ve diriliş sembolü olarak kodlandığı bulgulanmıştır. Bu dönüşüm hem yapı hem de içerik açısından şiirin söylemini etkilemiş; çocuk, kimi zaman bir masumiyet imgesi, kimi zaman tarihsel rolü olan bir birey ve çoğu zaman geleceğe dair umutların temsil edildiği nesil olarak şiir dilinin merkezine yerleşmiştir.
This research article focuses on representations of children and childhood in Turkish poetry of the Republic Period between 1950-1980 and aims to show the place of children in poetic expression, layers of meaning and their relationship with the social atmosphere of the period. In poetry of the Republic period, children are not only a nostalgic element as seen in the intellectual field and social life; they are also treated with a multifaceted representation that addresses social expectations, ideological conflicts, strong family structure, poetic language searches and cultural transformations. In this context, the themes constituting childhood representations in poetry of the 1950-1980 period are analyzed under the titles of innocence, hope and resistance. In this article, how the image of the child is reproduced in the poetry of the period is addressed through content analysis, while benefiting from Stuart Hall's theory of representation and the approaches to the sociology of childhood pioneered by names such as Philippe Ariès and Chris Jenks. In this way, an answer has been sought to the question of how childhood has been addressed in poetry as a historical construction process and a cultural symbolic field. Traces of collective memory, ideological expectations and poetic transformation have been traced through the representations of children in poetry encompassed by the concepts of innocence, hope and resistance. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the child, who was mostly in the context of home, family and the inner world of the individual in the 1950s, turned into a symbol representing the future in line with social changes, conflict and communitarian ideals in the 1960s, and was coded as a symbol of resistance and resurrection in the 1970s under the influence of multipolar political and social developments. This transformation affected the discourse of poetry in terms of both structure and content; the child has sometimes been placed at the center of the language of poetry as an image of innocence, sometimes as an individual with a historical role and often as a generation representing hopes for the future.
