About the Journal

The Journal of the Graduate School of Social Sciences (BUSBED) commenced its publication life with its first issue in the Spring of 2011, with the mission of bringing together original and scientifically contributory studies from all fields of social sciences and humanities on a peer-reviewed platform. Published twice a year (Spring and Fall), the journal supports the diversity of academic production by featuring research articles, book reviews, translations, compilations, and symposium evaluations.

Transition to Academic Standards and Internationalization
The year 2016 marked a turning point for our journal. From this date forward, it began accepting articles in both Turkish and English, elevating academic standards with the inclusion of international referees and editorial board members. In the same year, the journal began to be indexed by TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM TR Dizin, earning the title of an internationally indexed journal valid for academic incentives and associate professor applications. During this process, all submitted works began to be checked with plagiarism screening software, thereby ensuring academic ethics and originality.

Digitization and Universal Access
With the transition to the DergiPark platform in 2017, our journal adopted an open-access policy, providing easy access to an international readership through its Turkish and English interfaces. During the same period, the citation format was updated to the APA system, and the journal continued to be indexed by international indexes such as SOBİAD, EBSCO, and Google Scholar. Articles began to be assigned DOIs through Crossref, thus gaining academic citation visibility.

Integration into Global Academic Networks
Our journal expanded its global reach by joining the OCLC WorldCat library network and reinforced its commitment to publication ethics and author rights through the Creative Commons licensing model. Since 2018, ORCID integration has been made mandatory, ensuring the accurate and reliable tracking of authors' academic identities.

Continuous Development and Future Goals
As of today, our journal is recognized as a reliable academic source for its qualified and original studies in the field of social sciences, sustained publication performance, and presence in international indexes. The Bingöl University Graduate School of Social Sciences Journal is indexed by prestigious national and international platforms and indexes such as TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM, EBSCOhost, Crossref, Google Scholar, OpenAIRE, and Sobiad, ensuring that research reaches a wide audience and gains significant visibility. In the upcoming period, the goals are to be indexed by more international databases and to increase its academic impact. The support of our readers, authors, and referees continues to be our most valuable source of motivation on this path.
