The most innocent and the most victim of wars is women besides children. War and women shouldn’t come side by side. But usually literal works fictionalise with some justification women beside men in the war. The works narrate the war with women attention is very few. The roles which are assumed by women mostly in front or back are narrated. Turkish theatre with first works narrating war, handle women as a important factor of war. We come across women who are besides men and mostly depending his ideals in Namık Kemal’s and Abdülhak Hâmid’s works. Women take an active role in especially the pieces that narrating National Struggle. The women’s roles are aim beside the formation of collective consciousness, feature the women in the social life and developing self-esteem in women, in the pieces that is indited after the establishment of the rebuplic. Likewise, in some pieces narrating National Struggle, women take an initiative, decide and implement. Almost all of these decisions are the right decisions and consequently bring success. Savaşın en masum ve en mağdur kesiminden biri çocuklarla birlikte kadınlardır. Kadın ve savaş yan yana gelmemesi gereken iki kavram olmasına rağmen, edebî eserler çoğu zaman kadını birtakım gerekçelerle erkeğin yanında ve savaşın içinde kurgular. Savaşı kadın dikkatiyle anlatan eserler azdır. Daha çok cephede veya cephe gerisinde kadınların üstlendiği roller anlatılır.
Türk tiyatrosu, savaşı anlatan ilk eserleriyle birlikte kadını savaşın önemli bir unsuru olarak ele alır. Namık Kemal ve Abdülhak Hâmid'in eserlerinde erkeğin yanında ve çoğu zaman onun ideallerine bağlı kadınlarla karşılaşırız. Özellikle Milli Mücadeleyi anlatan oyunlarda da kadınlar önemli roller üstlenir. Cumhuriyetin kuruluşundan sonra kaleme alınan oyunlarda kadına biçilen roller, ortak bilincin oluşmasının yanında, sosyal hayatta kadını ön plana çıkarmak ve kadında özgüven geliştirmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Zira Millî Mücadele'nin anlatıldığı bazı oyunlarda kadınlar inisiyatif üstlenir, karar verir ve uygularlar. Bunların tamamına yakını doğru karalardır ve netice itibariyle başarı getiriler. Bu çalışma ile Türk tiyatro edebiyatında savaşı anlatan oyunlarda kadın kimliği ve kadına biçilen rol üzerinde durulacaktır.
