Abstract

Meydan, kentsel odak noktası ve sosyal hayatın yoğun olduğu önemli kamusal açık alandır. Tarih boyunca kent hafızasındaki bir çok olay, meydanın fiziki mekanında gerçekleşir. Bu nedenle peyzaj tasarımında kullanıcıların dinlenme, toplanma, buluşma ve sosyal aktiviteleri dikkate alınırken estetik anlayışa da yer yerilmelidir. Hızlı kentleşen bir Belde konumunda olan Kepezin mevcut meydanı peyzaj tasarımı açısından yetersiz bulunarak günümüz ihtiyaçları doğrultusunda yeniden tasarlanması gerekli görülmüştür. Bu bağlamda çalışmanın amacı, Kepez Beldesi’nin merkezinde, ana yol bağlantılarında, iş merkezlerinin odağında, halkın çok yoğun kullandığı meydanın, modern görünümlü ve bitkisel tasarım açısından hem işlevsel hem estetik görünüme sahip olmasının sağlanmasıdır. Bu amaçla çalışmada, alan görsel, mekansal ve swot analizleri ile irdelenmiş, yerinde kullanıcıları ile gözlemlenmiş, bitkisel materyalinin durumu incelenmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda alanda meydan tasarım ilkeleri dikkate alınarak peyzaj tasarımı önerisi yapılmıştır.

Investigation of Çanakkale Kepez Square and Landscape Design Proposal

Abstract

The square is the urban focal point and an important public open space where social life is intense. Throughout history, many events in the memory of the city take place in the physical space of the square. Therefore, while taking into account the recreation, gathering, meeting and social activities of the users in landscape design, aesthetic understanding should also be taken into account. The current square of Kepez, which is a rapidly urbanizing town, has been found to be insufficient in terms of landscape design and needs to be redesigned in line with today's needs. In this context, the aim of the study is to ensure that the square, which is used extensively by the public in the center of Kepez Town, in the main road connections, in the focus of business centers, has both a functional and aesthetic appearance in terms of modern and vegetative design. For this purpose, in the study, the field was examined with visual, spatial and swot analysis, observed with its users on site, and the condition of the plant material was examined. As a result of the study, a landscape design proposal was made by taking the square design principles into consideration.
