Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, 2024–2025 Türkiye Basketbol Ligi (TBL) sezonunda mücadele eden yerli ve yabancı oyuncular arasında oynama süresi ve maç içi performans göstergeleri açısından istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılıklar olup olmadığını incelemektir.Yöntem: Araştırmada nicel, kesitsel ve gözlemsel bir araştırma deseni kullanılmıştır. Örneklem, 2024–2025 TBL normal sezonunda en az bir maçta süre almış yerli ve yabancı oyunculardan oluşmuş ve toplam 4.752 oyuncu–maç gözlemi analiz edilmiştir. İncelenen değişkenler; oynanan dakika, sayı, toplam ribaund, hücum ve savunma ribaundları, asist, iki ve üç sayılık atış denemeleri ve isabetleri, serbest atış denemeleri ve isabetleri, top kaybı, top çalma, blok ve faul sayılarıdır. Normallik varsayımı çarpıklık ve basıklık katsayılarıyla değerlendirilmiştir. Parametrik analiz için uygun kabul edilen değişkenlerw bağımsız örneklem t-testi, normallikten daha belirgin sapma gösteren değişkenlere ise Mann–Whitney U testi uygulanmıştır. Anlamlılık düzeyi p < 0,05 olarak belirlenmiştir.Bulgular: Yerli ve yabancı oyuncuların performans göstergelerinin karşılaştırılmasına yönelik istatistiksel analiz sonuçları, incelenen tüm değişkenlerde anlamlı farklılıklar bulunduğunu ortaya koymuştur. Oynama süresi, sayı üretimi, şut hacmi ve isabeti, asist, top çalma ve blok değişkenlerinde yabancı oyuncular lehine anlamlı farklılıklar tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca, top kaybı ve faul değişkenlerinde de yabancı oyuncuların daha yüksek değerlere sahip olduğu ve bu farklılıkların istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olduğu belirlenmiştir.Sonuç: Çalışmanın bulguları, TBL’de yerli ve yabancı oyuncular arasındaki performans farklılıklarının sistematik bir yapı sergilediğini göstermektedir. Bu farklılıkların, teknik yetersizlikten ziyade, takımlar içerisindeki farklı taktik roller ve sorumluluk dağılımlarından kaynaklanıyor olabileceği değerlendirilmektedir.

Aim: The aim of this study was to examine whether statistically significant differences exist between domestic and foreign players competing in the 2024–2025 Turkish Basketball League with respect to playing time and a comprehensive set of game-related performance variables.Method: A quantitative, cross-sectional, and observational research design was employed. The sample included all domestic and foreign players who recorded playing time during the 2024–2025 Turkish Basketball League regular season. In total, 4,752 player–match observations were analyzed. The performance variables comprised minutes played, points scored, total rebounds, offensive rebounds, defensive rebounds, assists, shooting attempts and makes from two-point, three-point, and free-throw ranges, turnovers, steals, blocks, and fouls. Distributional characteristics were evaluated using skewness and kurtosis coefficients. Independent samples t-tests were conducted for variables considered suitable for parametric analysis, whereas the Mann–Whitney U test was applied to variables showing more pronounced deviations from normality. The level of statistical significance was set at p < .05.Results: The results showed statistically significant differences between domestic and foreign players across all examined performance indicators. Foreign players recorded higher values in playing time, scoring output, shooting volume and shooting success, assists, steals, and blocks. In addition, foreign players exhibited higher distributions for turnovers and fouls. These findings suggest greater involvement of foreign players in high-responsibility and high-usage game situations.Conclusion: The results indicate that performance differences between domestic and foreign players in the Turkish Basketball League are systematic in nature. These differences may reflect differentiated tactical roles within team structures rather than isolated technical disparities. The results provide practical insights for coaches and performance analysts who aim to balance competitive success with the long-term development of domestic players.
