Dünyada ve Türkiye’de Meme Kanserli Hastaların Tamamlayıcı ve Alternatif Tedavi Kullanımı

Abstract

Meme kanseri dünyada ve ülkemizde kadınlar arasında en çok görülen kanser türüdür. Teknolojinin ilerlemesiyle birlikte meme kanserinin tedavisinde; cerrahi, kemoterapi, radyoterapi, hormonoterapi, hedef tedavi ve immunoterapi gibi seçenekler yer almaktadır. Bu tedavi seçeneklerinin bir veya birden fazlası hastanın klinik durumuna göre tercih edilmektedir. Kullanılan tedavi yöntemleri, kanserin evresi ve hastada bulunan bazı etkenlere bağlı olarak bulantı-kusma, konstipasyon, diyare, alopesi, mukozit, nötropeni, yorgunluk gibi yan etkiler görülmekte ve bireyin yaşam kalitesini olumsuz biçimde etkilemektedir. Tamamlayıcı tedaviler, tıbbi tedavilere destek amacıyla kullanılır. Hastalar tamamlayıcı tedavileri; semptomları ve ilaçlara bağlı yan etkileri azaltmak, yaşam kalitelerini iyileştirmek, fiziksel ve psikolojik olarak destek almak amacıyla kullanmaktadır. Tamamlayıcı tedavi kullanımı yaş, eğitim düzeyi, gelir durumu, kanser evresi, fiziksel aktivite, beslenme tarzı, kültürel farklılıklar, coğrafi bölge, etnik kökene bağlı olarak değişiklik göstermektedir. Bu derleme dünyada ve ülkemizde meme kanseri olan hastaların kullandıkları tamamlayıcı ve alternatif tedavi yöntemleri konusunda farkındalık oluşturmak için düzenlenmiştir.
