Türk siyasal hayatında devlet, Batı dünyasından farklı bir şekilde özne pozisyonunda kalmış ve bu durum yalnızca siyasal yaşamı değil, aynı zamanda toplumsal düzeni de şekillendirmiştir. Devletin bu konumu, siyasal ve toplumsal yapının, devletin arzuları, ihtiyaçları ve kaygıları doğrultusunda biçimlenmesine yol açmıştır. Türk siyasal hayatının özellikle son iki yüz yıllık evresinde devletin ciddi tehdit algılamaları söz konusudur. Bu tehditler devletin muhtevasını oluşturan bürokratik kadrolarda zaman zaman şiddetlenen ve süreç içerisinden derinleşen bir beka kaygısının oluşmasına neden olmuştur. Beka kaygısı, varoluşsal tehditlerle ortaya çıkan gerilimleri ifade ettiğinden, toplumsal ve siyasal hayatın merkezinde yer alan devletin bu psikolojik durumunun, siyaset ve siyasal rejim üzerinde belirleyici bir etki yaratmış olması kaçınılmazdır. Dolayısıyla bu çalışma, devletin beka kaygısının siyasal rejim üzerindeki etkisini incelemektir. Çalışmanın ulaştığı temel bulgu, dış tehditlerden kaynaklanan beka kaygısının siyasal rejim üzerinde demokratikleşme yönünde bir etki yarattığı, iç tehditlerden kaynaklı beka kaygısının ise otoriterleşmeye doğru bir yönelim oluşturduğudur. Bu araştırma, tamamen nitel araştırma yöntemleriyle yürütülmüş olup, elde edilen veriler önce sınıflandırılmış, sonrasında ise olgularla ilişkilendirilerek analiz edilmiştir.
In Turkish political life, unlike in the Western world, the state has remained in a subject position and this has shaped not only political life but also the social order. This position of the state has led to the shaping of the political and social structure in line with the desires, needs and concerns of the state. Especially in the last two hundred years of Turkish political life, the state has perceived serious threats. These threats have led to a concern for survival among the bureaucratic cadres that constitute the content of the state, which has intensified from time to time and deepened in the process. Since survival anxiety refers to the tensions arising from existential threats, it is inevitable that this psychological state of the state, which is at the center of social and political life, has had a decisive impact on politics and the political regime. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the impact of the state's survival anxiety on the political regime. The main finding of the study is that survival anxiety stemming from external threats has an effect on the political regime in the direction of democratization, while survival anxiety stemming from internal threats creates a tendency towards authoritarianism. This study was conducted entirely with qualitative research methods, and the data obtained were first classified and then analyzed in relation to the facts.
