<p>Dance emerged in primitive times as a means of expressing human fear, anxiety, and amazement at nature, as well as their religious orientations. Over time, the phenomenon of dance evolved into artistic creativity, and within the framework of social developments, it was transformed into an artistic image by artists of the Ancient Period. Throughout periods such as Ancient Greek, Roman, Hellenistic, Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, Romantic, Classic, and Modernism, artists have addressed the theme of dance. In contemporary times, dance imagery are approached in an interdisciplinary manner, encompassing not only the field of plastic arts such as painting, sculpture, photography, video, performance, conceptual, and digital art but also areas of social sciences like literature, psychology, philosophy, anthropology, culture, history, and performing arts. The aim of this research is to examine the process of the image of dance from its initial emergence to its development in the present day with examples. The research employs a qualitative data analysis method known as &quot;descriptive scanning.&quot; A literature review has been conducted on the subject, and studies related to it have been analyzed and interpreted. As a result, it can be stated that the development of the image of dance up the present day demonstrates that the phenomenon of dance is not limited to plastic arts alone but possesses an interdisciplinary nature.</p></trans-abstract>
