Abstract

: Beyoglu which main name is Pera is known a place that mostly non muslim live That is why Beyoglu has appeared with a different identity and always has remained as a contrary face of İsatanbul It is in a position of the face that looks to the west of the city maybe of Turkey Neverteless this compossition has been changed after 1940’s Ahmet Umit in the Rapsodi of Beyoglu processing these what happeneld in the change the axis The author that questioning the new position of the district in a framework of conceptualization of Beyoglu that become Suburb sovereign as long the idea of loosing of the cultural tissue is ignored as the previous idantity of the place In the place where the art community was staying and intensively Cultural activities was taking place the place has turned a nest of dirty relations We will examine the result of the negative change that happened in Beyoglu in our work in the framework of place concept Key Words: Ahmet Ümit Espace Pera Rapsodisi’s Beyoğlu İstanbul

AHMET ÜMİT’İN BEYOĞLU RAPSODİSİ’NDE MEKÂN OLARAK “BEYOĞLU”

Abstract

Asıl adı Pera olan Beyoğlu gayri müslümlerin çoğunlukta olduğu bir yer olarak bilinir Beyoğlu bu nedenle ayrı bir kimlikle ortaya çıkmış ve hep İstanbul’un aykırı bir yüzü olarak kalmıştır Barındırdığı farklı insan tipleriyle ve mekânlarıyla şehrin belki de Türkiye’nin Batı’ya bakan çehresi durumundadır Ancak bu yapı 1940’lardan sonra değişmektedir Ahmet Ümit Beyoğlu Rapsodisi’nde bu değişim ekseninde yaşananları işliyor Semtin yeni durumunu ‘varoşlaşan Beyoğlu’ kavramlaştırması çerçevesinde sorgulayan yazar mekânın eski kimliğinin göz ardı edildikçe kültürel dokunun da kaybolduğu düşüncesini egemen kılmaktadır Önceden sanat erbabının kaldığı ve kültürel aktivitelerin yoğunlukta olduğu mekân şimdilik kirli ilişkilerin yuvasına dönüşmüştür Çalışmamızda mekân kavramı çerçevesinde Beyoğlu’nda yaşanan olumsuz değişimi ve sonuçlarını inceleyeceğiz
