It is of great importance that the plants used in agricultural production can be grown in drought conditions expected due to global climate change. Plants grown in arid environments make some physiological and morphological changes to adapt to these conditions. Genotypes that can make these changes and minimize their losses during the dry period are least affected by drought damage and these genotypes are considered drought resistant. This study was carried out to determine and propagate drought-resistant almond and apricot genotypes from Adana, Hatay, Niğde, Mersin and Nevşehir provinces. Plants were selected from the trees grown in the slopes, stony and arid areas without irrigation. The most important selection criteria of the genotypes were to be grown under drought and natural conditions. As a result of the selection studies, a total of 85 almond genotypes and 29 apricot genotypes were determined, 42 of which were wild. 43 of the almond genotypes were propagated to GF-677 rootstock and all of the apricots were propagated to Myrobolan 29 C rootstock. Forty-two almond genotypes that could not be propagated by grafting were propagated by tissue culture method, but no success was achieved in the rooting stage.
Tarımsal üretimde kullanılan bitkilerin, küresel iklim değişikliğine bağlı olarak beklenen kuraklık koşullarında da yetiştirilebilmesi büyük önem taşımaktadır. Bu çalışma, Adana, Hatay, Niğde, Mersin ve Nevşehir illerinden kuraklığa dayanıklı badem ve kayısı genotiplerinin seçilmesi ve bu özellik bakımından değerlendirilmesi amacıyla yürütülmüştür. Seleksiyon çalışmaları sonucunda 42’si yabani karakterli olmak üzere toplam 85 badem genotipi ve 29 kayısı genotipi seçilmiştir. Badem genotiplerinden 43 tanesi GF-677 anacı ve kayısıların tamamı Myrobolan 29 C anacı üzerine aşılanarak biyotik ve abiyotik stres çalışmalarında kullanılmak üzere çoğaltılmışlardır.
