Gender Equality To Prevent Violence Against Women Is Mandatory: Meaning Of The Gender Equality

Abstract

Violence against
women is an important problem in our age. To combat violence against women it
is necessary to provide gender equality.
Women may be subjected to violence because of their gender. Certain
types of violence, in particular, domestic violence affect women
disproportionately.
Gender
equlity requires social economic and political equality. For this, it is
necessary to provide distrubitive justice and a change of cultural
understanding in terms of gender equality. In this article, the requirements of
gender equality will be explained regarding the standards of equality.
Accordingly, the meaning of gender equality and its requirements will be
determined.

Violence against
women; besides being a violation of human rights, it is a form of
discrimination. Both occur in public as well as private areas. Physical
violence that is applied to women is not just about beating, wouding and killing.
Violence against women enbodies sexaul violence that is sexual harrassment and
sexual assault; psychological violence that is every kind of humiliation and
insult; and economical violence that does not allow woman or confiscate the
money she earns. 

Violence against
women is made on the basis of gender. So, violence is applied simple because
she is a women and this affects women disproportionatley.







To prevent violence against women, we must
ensure gender equality. The main causes of violence towards against women stems
from this inequality. At this point, there are four tasks that was assigned by
countries under the Istanbul Contract on how to prevent violence against women.
These include; Creation policy, prevention policy, protection-supporting policy
and punishment-prosecution policy tasks. The most important part of changing
gender perception is education

Kadına Yönelik Şiddeti Önlemede Toplumsal Cinsiyet Eşitliğinin Önemi

Abstract

Kadına
yönelik şiddet, günümüzün en önemli problemlerinden birini oluşturmaktadır. Kadına
yönelik şiddeti önlemek için, toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliğinin sağlanması
gerekmektedir. Çünkü, kadınlar, sırf cinsiyetleri dolayısıyla şiddete
uğramaktadırlar. Belirli şiddet türleri, özellikle ev-içi şiddet, kadınları
orantısız olarak etkilemektedir. Toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliği, sosyal, siyasal
ve ekonomik anlamda eşitliğin sağlanmasıdır. Bunun için, dağıtım ilkelerinin
eşitlikçi olması ve toplumsal cinsiyete ilişkin kültürel değişikliğin sağlanması
gerekmektedir. Bu çalışmada, toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliğinin anlamı ve
gerekleri, eşitlik ilkeleri çerçevesinde ortaya konacaktır. Kadına yönelik
şiddetin boyutları tanımlanacak, bunun önlenmesi için gerekli olan toplumsal
cinsiyet eşitliği algısının sağlanabilmesine yönelik görüşler
tartışılacaktır.
