In the etiology, genetic predisposition and triggering factors such as viruses (hepatitis A, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, Ebstein Bar virus, cytomegalovirus), bacteria, drugs (propylthiouracil, nitrofurantoin, isoniazid, etc.) are emphasized. Cases may be asymptomatic or present with complaints such as fatigue, weakness, jaundice, upper abdominal discomfort, pruritis, loss of appetite, nausea and fever.
