The Zaidiyya sect, traced back to Zayd ibn Ali (d. 122/740), draws attention with its approach during the era of Yahya ibn Hussein (d. 298/911), emphasizing the submission of hadiths to the scrutiny of the Quran and prioritizing critical reasoning in determining their authenticity. Accordingly, scholars within this sect tend to adopt a sharp and unequivocal rejection style towards narrations conflicting with their views. The question arises whether this style has persisted uniformly or if there has been a shift in discourse, particularly towards other factions within Zaidi thought and, more notably, towards Sunni perspectives. The aim of this article is to address this question. Therefore, a comparison is made between Yahya ibn Hussein, who lived in the 3rd century of the Hijra, and Ahmed ibn Suleiman (d. 566/1171), who lived in the 6th century of the Hijra, in an attempt to uncover an answer to this question. Our study is conducted within the framework of Yahya ibn Hussein's works, "Kitabu'l-Ahkam" and "el-Muntehab," along with Ahmed ibn Suleiman's compilation of legal traditions in his work "Usulu'l-Ahkam." The subject is approached through two main headings: the differing rulings of the two scholars and their distinct interpretations of the same rulings, followed by subheadings elucidating these aspects.
