Year 2018, Volume: 32 Issue: 2, 89 - 97, 27.08.2018

Abstract

Objective:
Musculoskeletal system pain is related with learned posture and habits.
Analyzing this problem in university period is especially important in terms of
protection and awareness. Objective of the research is to define the occurrence
of musculoskeletal system pain and related factors in sophomore students in
faculty of education.
Material and Method:
Twenty one major departments in the Faculty of Education have been included in
the study population and by using simple random numbers table, Department of
Preschool Education, Department of Mathematics and Department of Social
Sciences have been included. Three hundred twenty six  students in these departments established the
study group and data from 317 students have been analyzed. Musculoskeletal pain
data of the students have been collected with a questionnaire, by using
extended version of Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire.

Results: 70% of
participant students are female, and average age is 20.5±1.2. The most common
pain is back pain, low-back pain and neck pain among the participants. Daily
sitting time and weight are determined as the predominant variables on pain.
When the sitting time increases both in and out of school, it was detected that
the possibility of any pain on any part of the body increases as well.

Conclusion:
In line with the findings of the study,it was determined that musculoskeletal
system pain of the university students is significantly high and that students
may even fail to do some daily activities because of such pain. To prevent
these pains from causing more trouble in their adult life, there are possible
precautions such as ergonomic designs or increasing physical activities.

Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi ikinci sınıfa devam eden öğrencilerde kas iskelet sistemi ağrılarının varlığı ve ilişkili etmenler

Year 2018, Volume: 32 Issue: 2, 89 - 97, 27.08.2018

Abstract

Amaç:
Kas iskelet sistemi ile ilgili ağrıların öğrenilmiş postür
ve alışkanlıklarla ilişkisi vardır. Üniversite eğitim döneminde bu sorunun
incelenmesi korunma ve farkındalık acısından özel önemdedir. Araştırmanın
amacı, Eğitim Fakültesi ikinci sınıfa devam eden öğrencilerde kas iskelet
sistemi ağrılarının varlığı ve ilişkili etmenlerin belirlenmesidir

Gereç
ve Yöntem:
Eğitim Fakültesi’nin 21 anabilim dalı kesitsel tipteki
çalışmanın evrenine alınmış ve basit rasgele sayılar tablosu kullanılarak Okul
Öncesi Eğitim Bölümü, Matematik Bölümü ve Sosyal Bilgiler Bölümü çalışmaya
alınmıştır. Bu bölümlerdeki 326 öğrenci çalışma grubunu oluşturmuş, 317
öğrenciden elde edilen verilerle analizler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Öğrencilerin
kas iskelet sistemi ağrılarına ilişkin veriler Genişletilmiş Nordic Kas İskelet
Anketinden yararlanılarak oluşturulan bir anket ile toplanmıştır.

Bulgular: Araştırmaya
katılan öğrencilerin %70’i kadındır ve yaş ortalaması 20,5±1,2’dir.
