                                                                                                <abstract><p>Botulinum toksini Clostridium botulinum bakterisi tarafından üretilen bir nörotoksin olup nöromüsküler kavşakta felce yol açarak etki eder. Botulinum toksini uzun yıllardır terapötik amaçlı olarak şaşılık ve blefarospazm tedavisinde kullanılmaktadır. O zamandan bu yana botulinum toksininin etkinlikleri ve serötipleri araştırılmaktadır. Botoks enjeksiyonu minimal invaziv bir prosedür olup diş hekimliğinde temporomandibular eklem disfonksiyonları, bruksizm, masseter hipertrofisi, dişeti gülümsemesi ve trigeminal nevralji tedavilerinde kullanılmaktadır. Bu derleme çalışmasında botoksun diş hekimliğinde kullanımının incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır.</p></abstract>

                            <p>Botulinum toxin is a neurotoxin, which is produced by Clostridium botulinum and acts by causing paralysis at the neuromuscular junction. Botulinum toxin has been used for therapeutic purposes for many years in the treatment of strabismus and blepharospasm. Since then, the efficacy and serotypes of botulinum toxin have been investigated. Botox injection is a minimally invasive procedure and is used in dentistry for the treatment of temporomandibular joint disorders, bruxism, masseteric hypertrophy, gummy smile and trigeminal neuralgia. This review article emphysis on the investigation of botox in dentistry.</p></trans-abstract>
