Aristotelesçi melankoli anlayışı çağdaş psikiyatriye taksonomik bir bakış açısı sunabilir mi?

Abstract

Bu makalede amacım Aristotelesçi külliyatta yer alan melankoli anlayışını tartışmak ve bu tartışmadan yola çıkarak çağdaş psikopatolojide uygulanabilecek teleoloji merkezli bir taksonomi olanağını irdelemektir. Bu doğrultuda ilk olarak Aristoteles’in melankoli kavramsallaştırmasını hıltlar anlayışı içinde ve olgusal tasviri üzerinden tanımlayacağım. Daha sonra Problemler 30.1’in doğal olarak ve kazara melankolik olmak arasında önerdiği ayrımı Aristoteles’in doğa-kaza ve dört neden anlayışları çerçevesinde çözümleyecek ve kişinin telosuna içkin olan bir melankoli kavramsallaştırmasını gündeme getireceğim. Son olarak bu kavramın psikopatoloji taksonomisine ilişkin çağdaş yaklaşımlara ışık tutma olanağını tartışacak ve sisteme içkin, teleolojik psikopatoloji tiplerini “kazara” gelişen psikopatoloji tiplerinden ayırma ideali üzerine kurulu bir taksonomi yaklaşımı önereceğim.
