The aim of the present study is to review the crucial findings concerning the effects of fish oil on coronary heart diseases. This research area was very important for public health and has been under intensive investigation in recent years. The benifical effects of fish oil lire mainly due to the effects of eicosapentanoic acid (EPA) and docosahexanoic acid (DHA) which are n-3 (also known as 00-3) fatty acids. These important fatty acids are mainly found in fishes. In this review, the health effects of fish oil are limited to their effects on triglycerid. lipoprotein, blood viscosity, atherosclerosis, thrombosis, bleeding time, blood pressure, arrhythmias, myocardial infarction as well as sudden cardiac death.
