Effective Library Automation System

Abstract

A software library automation system, which is called as “EKO System”, has been

developed in this research. EKO System is designed for schools or other libraries with a

few or moderate amount of books. The system is written in C++, developed and compiled

in Linux environment. It runs effectively computers with Intel 486 and better CPU. EKOSystem

is designed to be effective in usage of CPU and disk space, and it can easily be as

functional as professional programs in the market with additional hardware-software

modules. Now, a successful text based prototype runs at the Engineering Library of

Dumlupmar University.

EKO-SİSTEM EFEKTİF KÜTÜPHANE OTOMASYONU SİSTEMİ

Abstract

EKO Sistem olarak adlandırılan, Efektif Kütüphane Otomasyonu Sistemi, küçük veya orta

ölçekli kitap birikimi olan okullar ve diğer kütüphaneler için tasarlanmıştır. C++ dilinde

yazılan otomasyon programı, Linux İşletim Sistemi altında Intel 486 ve üstü donanıma

sahip bir bilgisayara kurulabilmektedir. İlave donanım ve yazılım modülleriyle kısa

zamanda piyasadaki profesyonel otomasyon sistemlerine eşdeğer hale gelen sistemin,

donanım kaynakları kullanımında (disk alanı, CPU gibi) efektif olmasına dikkat edilmiştir.

EKO Sisteme ait prototip şu anda Dumlupmar Üniversitesi Mühendislik Fakültesi

Kütüphanesinde başarı ile kullanılmaktadır.
