FACTORS EFFECTING DESIGN OF DIES USED WITH EXPLOSIVE FORMING OF METALS

Abstract

Dies designed for conventional forming procession in hydraulic and mechanical press are

inadequate for the explosive forming such as detonation, electrohydraulic and

electromagnetic. In conventional method, male and female dies are used; however, in

explosive forming of metals generally female dies are used. In the latter method; because

of small number of parts and die materials such as concrete, plastic and fiberglas the cost

of die is reduced. In design; in addition to fracture, craking and extension of dimensions of

the die; created by shock wave that are produced by high explosives, evacuation of

entrapped air, geometry, place and position of vacuum holes, materials of workpiece,

amount of energy and safety precaution must be considered.

METALLERİN PATLAMA İLE ŞEKİLLENDİRİLMESİNDE KULLANILAN KALIPLARIN TASARIMINI ETKİLEYEN FAKTÖRLER

Abstract

Hidrolik ve mekanik preslerdeki konvansiyonel şekillendirme işlemleri için tasarlanan

kalıplar detonasyon, elektrohidrolik ve elektromanyetik yöntem gibi patlama ile

şekillendirme işlemleri için yeterli değildir. Konvansiyonel yöntemde genel olarak zımba

ve kalıp (dişi kalıp) kullanılmasına karşın, patlama ile şekillendirmede genellikle kalıp

(dişi kalıp) kullanılır. Bu yöntemde, az sayıdaki parçaların üretimi yapdması nedeniyle

beton, plastik ve fiberglas gibi kalıp malzemeleri de kullanılabileceğinden kalıp maliyeti

düşer. Tasarımda; yüksek enerji veren patlayıcıların ürettiği şok basınç dalgaları nedeniyle

kalıplarda meydana gelen çatlama, kırılma ve ölçü büyümesinin yanısıra, kalıp malzemesi,

sıkışan havanın dışarıya atılması, vakum deliğinin büyüklüğü, konumu ve şekli, iş

parçasının malzemesi ve geometrisi, kullanılan enerji miktarı ile güvenlik önlemlerinin de

gözönünde bulundurulması gerekir.
