<p>While numerous empirical studies have examined the effects of democracy and corruption on income inequality, few studies have examined how they affect redistribution. This study, which was carried out based on this gap in the literature, aims to reveal how democracy and corruption affected redistribution in Türkiye between 2002 and 2023. The findings obtained by the ARDL method, KPSS stationarity test, and PP unit root test are as follows: i) The variables&#039; stationarity properties are suitable for estimating the empirical model with the ARDL. ii) A stable long-run relationship exists between the independent and dependent variables. iii) An increase in the democracy index and unemployment rates reduces redistribution. iv) An increase in the corruption index (indicating lower corruption), leads to increased redistribution. Therefore, an effective fight against corruption should be launched in Türkiye to increase redistribution and thus reduce income inequality.</p></trans-abstract>
