Cutting is commonly used in the sectors where metal forming processes are performed particularly in the automotive industry. Undesirable tears occur in the forming process after cutting-process. These formations are due to the undesirable micro and macro-level cracks after the cutting process completed. In the present paper, it is tried to decrease the cracks to a minimum level in the cutting process. In order to observe the micro and macro size cracks in the material during cold-forming process, the importance of the fine blanking method which is increasing in use every day; however, has been started to be widespread in Turkey, has been performed by using simufact forming V16 finite element method (FEM) software. In the tests, double phase DP 600 sheet material of 1 mm thick which is one of the high strength steels was used. Yield point, tensile strength, % elongation values used in virtual media tests were taken from the tensile test results of the sample. In this study, the mold of the figure “star and crescent” was designed and virtual medium experiments were performed. As a result of the tests, the stress, width and depth and notch height values of cutting method and different notched v-ring which are used in the fine blanking method are investigated. In addition, the importance of the v-notched ring for fine blanking has been demonstrated in the study.
