                                                                                                                        <abstract><p>Bu çalışmanın amacı, rekreasyon amaçlı yüzen bireylerin optimal performans duygu durumları ve serbest zaman doyumlarının cinsiyet ve yüzmeye katılım sebeplerine göre incelenmesi ve değişkenler arasındaki ilişkinin belirlenmesidir. Araştırmanın örneklemini rastlantısal olmayan örnekleme yöntemlerinden uygun örnekleme yöntemi kullanılarak belirlenmiş ve 112 kadın (Xyaş =27.73 ± 9.04) 128 erkek (Xyaş=25.66 ± 7.12) olmak üzere toplam 240 katılımcıdan oluşmaktadır. Veri toplama aracı olarak kişisel bilgi formu, sürekli optimal performans duygu durum 2- Ölçeği ve serbest zaman doyum ölçeğinin kısa versiyonu kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler tanımlayıcı istatistikler, bağımsız grup t testi, ANOVA ve korelasyon analizi ile analiz edilmiştir. Optimal performans duygu durumu (t=-2.758, p=.006) ve serbest zaman doyumun (t=-2.654, p=.009) cinsiyete göre anlamlı olarak farklılaştığı bulunmuştur. Yüzmeye katılım sebeplerine göre katılımcıların optimal performans duygu durumu puanları anlamlı olarak farklılaşırken (F(2,237)=3,199, p=.043), serbest zaman doyum puanlarında anlamlı olarak bir farklılık görülmemiştir (F(2,237)=1,865, p=.157). Ayrıca katılımcıların optimal performans duygu durumu ile serbest zaman doyum puanları arasında pozitif yönde ve orta düzeyde anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuştur (r =.673, p&amp;lt;.05). Sonuç olarak, cinsiyet değişkenine göre optimal performans duygu durumu ile serbest zaman doyumu farklılık gösterebilmektedir. Katılımcıların yüzmeyi tercih etme sebeplerine göre optimal performans duygu durumu farklılaşabilmektedir. Optimal performans duygu durumu ve serbest zaman doyumu arasındaki ilişkinin ortaya konmasının, bireylerin serbest zamanlarında edindikleri olumlu duygu durumlarının doyumları ile yakından ilişkili olduğunu desteklediği görülmektedir.</p></abstract>
