Bu &amp;ccedil;alışmada, sı&amp;ccedil;anlarda, kadmiyumun ind&amp;uuml;klediği akut karaciğer toksisitesine karşı melatonin hormonununkoruyucu etkisinin araştırılması ama&amp;ccedil;landı. Ortalama 170-220 gr. ağırlığında 21 adet Wistar-Albino cinsi yetişkin erkek sı&amp;ccedil;an, rastgele &amp;uuml;&amp;ccedil; eşit gruba ayrıldı: Kontrol, kadmiyum klor&amp;uuml;r (CdCl2), kadmiyum ve Melatonin (Cd+Melatonin). Kadmiyum grubu sı&amp;ccedil;anlara, Kadmiyum (1 mg/kg) 30 g&amp;uuml;n boyunca subkutan yoldan enjekte edilirken, Cd+Melatonin grubunda yer alan hayvanlara ise Cd (1 mg/kg) subkutan yoldan ve Melatonin (25mg/kg) 30 g&amp;uuml;n boyunca, her g&amp;uuml;n, intraperitonel yoldan enjekte edildi. Kontrol grubu sı&amp;ccedil;anlara ise salin enjekte edildi. Karaciğer dokuları, immunohistokimyasal y&amp;ouml;ntem ile Isı Şok proteini 70 (IŞP70) immunoreaksiyonu i&amp;ccedil;in boyandı. Kadmiyum grubu sı&amp;ccedil;anlarda, kadmiyum toksisitesine bağlı olarak karaciğerde, IŞP70 immunoreaksiyonunu g&amp;ouml;steren yoğun bir boyanma g&amp;ouml;r&amp;uuml;ld&amp;uuml;. Kadmiyum ile birlikte melatonin enjekte edilen sı&amp;ccedil;anlara ait karaciğer doku kesitlerinde ise minimal IŞP70 boyanması tespit edildi. Melatonin hormonunun, kadmiyumun toksik etkisininin g&amp;ouml;stergesi olan IŞP70immunoreaksiyonunu &amp;ouml;nemli &amp;ouml;l&amp;ccedil;&amp;uuml;de azalttığı ve karaciğer hasarına karşı koruyucu rol oynadığı tespit edildi.</p>
