The most distinct method adopted by the electorates to reflect their political conviction is voting. This
study attempts to reveal the factors influential upon undergraduates’ behaviour of voting, and to enable
comparison between such factors. In this context, findings related to a questionnaire conducted for the
undergraduates in the wake of the local election on 29 March 2009 have been given. According to the
rudimentary findings of this study, the most distinct factors that have been influential upon undergraduates’
behaviour of voting for local elections are candidate, ideology and leader.
