Determination of color stability of composite resins polymerized with different light sources

Year 2012, Volume: 39 Issue: 2 - Volume: 39 Issue: 2, 67 - 74, 01.05.2012

Abstract

Light polymerized composite resins, for example minifil hybrid composites and condansable composites are commonly used in dentistry owing to their developed physical, mechanical and esthetical properties. LED Light Emitted diode light units are commonly used to polymerize the resin composites. Composite restorations may show color changes in several degrees in oral environment. These color changes of restorative materials occur in oral cavity caused by several physical and chemical factors; water, drinks etc. The aim of this study was to examinate the color changes of samples embedded in water and polymerized with a halogen and a LED light units. In the study, a posterior minifil hybrid composite material “Aélite Bisco, USA ” and a posterior condansable composite resin material “Solitaire 2 Heraeus Kulzer, Dormagen, Germany were used. They were polymerized with a conventional halogen and a LED light units. Color measurements of samples which were stored in deionised water were performed according to “CIE-L*a*b* color system” with a colorimeter device Minolta CR-321 at the times of “initial”, “after one week” and “after one month”. Data were determined with Three-Way-variance Analyse ANOVA and Duncan Multiple Comparison Test p

Farklı ışık kaynakları ile polimerize edilen kompozit rezinlerin renk stabilitelerinin değerlendirilmesi

Year 2012, Volume: 39 Issue: 2 - Volume: 39 Issue: 2, 67 - 74, 01.05.2012
