Bu çalışmada petrol rafinerisinin bulunduğu Aliağa Körfezi’nin çeşitli yerlerinden toplanmış kaya balıklarının (Gobius niger ) karaciğer dokusu alınarak ağır metal içerikleri (Cd, Ni, Se, Zn, Cu,Cr) ölçülmüştür. Aliağa bölgesinden alınan örneklerde ağır metal birikimine minumum düzeyde rastlanmıştır. Ayrıca alınan datanın fiziksel (boy) ve mevsime (yaz ve ilkbahar) göre dağılımı incelendiğinde metal birikiminin dağılımında farklılıklar olduğu saptanmıştır
