Towards Social Collapse: Polarization, Anger and Conflicts What Can Teachers Do?

Abstract

Sociological, ideological, ethnic, political, economic, lifestyle, beliefs, cracks, fractures, polarizations and disagreements have always existed and will always exist in our country as in the whole world. However, in recent years, this situation has gotten out of control and is heading towards a real social collapse. The increasing level of racism in Europe due to refugees and asylum seekers, the black-white conflict that has existed in the US for many years and the political polarization that has reached a peak in recent years, the polarization in our country due to sports, foreigners under temporary protection, ethnic, belief, political, ideological and lifestyle polarization are literally ringing alarm bells and warning of “the last exit before the bridge”.

In this article, the polarization, anger and conflicts experienced globally, but more intensely in our country, and the duties of education, especially teachers, in this regard are tried to be examined. In this context, the data obtained from informal personal conversations with teachers (14) and administrators (3) are also shared. It is hoped that this study will not only raise awareness, but also serve as an example and an opportunity for more comprehensive and systematic studies to be carried out in order to address the situation meticulously, to initiate the necessary work and to rationally move away from a situation that is rapidly leading to a kind of social collapse.

Toplumsal Çöküşe Doğru: Kutuplaşma, Öfke ve Anlaşmazlıklar Öğretmenler Ne Yapabilir?

Abstract

Tüm dünyada olduğu gibi ülkemizde de sosyolojik, ideolojik, etnik, politik, ekonomik, yaşam tarzı, inançsal çatlaklar, kırılmalar, kutuplaşmalar, anlaşmazlıklar hemen her zaman vardı ve olacak da. Ancak son yıllarda bu durum artık kontrolden çıkıp gerçek manada toplumsal bir çöküşe doğru gidiyor. Avrupa’da mülteci-sığınmacı kaynaklı giderek artan düzeyde ırkçılık, ABD’de çok uzun yıllardır var olan siyah-beyaz çatışması ve son yıllarda adeta tavan yapan politik kutuplaşma, ülkemizdeki spor, geçici koruma altındaki yabancılar, etnik, inanç, politik, ideolojik ve yaşam tarzı kaynaklı kutuplaşmalar, tam anlamıyla alarm zillerini çaldırmakta ve adeta “köprüden önceki son çıkış” uyarısı vermektedir.
Bu makalede genelde küresel bazda ancak daha yoğun olarak ülkemizde yaşanan kutuplaşma, öfke, anlaşmazlıklar ve bu konuda eğitime özellikle de öğretmenlere düşen görevler irdelenmeye çalışıldı. Bu kapsamda gayrî resmî olarak öğretmen (14) ve idarecilerle (3) yapılan kişisel konuşmalardan elde edilen veriler de paylaşılmaktadır. Umulur ki bu çalışma, hem durumun titizlikle ele alınması, gerekli çalışmaların başlaması ve hızla bir tür toplumsal çöküşe götüren durumdan aklıselimle uzaklaşılması için farkındalık yaratır hem de daha kapsamlı ve sistematik çalışmaların yapılmasına örnek teşkil eder ve vesile olur.
