The effect of face to face interaction on critical thinking skills in web supported case-based learning / Web destekli örnek olay yönteminde yüz yüze etkileşimin öğrencilerin eleştirel düşünme becerilerine etkisi

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı, web destekli örnek olay yönteminde yüz yüze etkileşimin öğrencilerin eleştirel düşünme becerilerine etkisini incelemektir. Araştırmada tek gruplu tekrarlı ölçümler deseni kullanılmıştır Araştırmaya Gazi Üniversitesi Gazi Eğitim Fakültesi Bilgisayar ve Öğretim Teknolojileri Eğitimi Bölümü’nde 2010-2011 Güz döneminde 2. Sınıfta okuyan ve Öğretim İlke ve Yöntemleri dersi alan 65 öğrenci katılmıştır. Uygulama toplam 7 hafta sürmüştür. Araştırma bulgularına göre, web destekli örnek olay yönteminde yüz yüze sınıf etkileşiminin ardından, öğrencilerin eleştirel düşünme becerileri ortalama puanları arasında anlamlı bir fark olduğu görülmektedir ([F(1–63)=187,091, p<,05]). Benzer araştırmaların farklı disiplin ve sınıf düzeyinde de ortaya çıkarılmasına yönelik çalışmaların yapılması alanyazına katkı açısından önem taşımaktadır.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to review the effect of Face to Face Interaction on Critical Thinking Skills in Web Supported Case-Based Learning. Single-group repeated measures design was used in the study. The samples of the study were sixty five students, taking the Principles and Methods of Teaching course in their second year, in the department of Computer Education and Instructional Technology in the Gazi Faculty of Education in Gazi University. The research study took a total of seven weeks. The analysis, done using OneWay ANOVA for Repeated Measures, showed that there was a meaningful difference on critical thinking scores following the environment that contains face to face interaction ([F(1–63)=187,091, p<,05]). It is important to repeat these experimental studies on different disciplines and grades in order to contribute to the literature.
