Abstract

Özet

Periodontitis
periodontitisin klinik ayrımı her zaman net değildir.  Kronik ve agresif periodontitis; başlangıç
yaşı, ilerleme hızı, enflamasyonun klinik belirtileri, yıkım şekli,
mikrobiyolojik özellikler, histopatolojik özellikler, genetik ve çevresel
faktörler, tedaviye verdikleri yanıt bakımından farklılıklar gösterir. Bu
farklılıklar göz önünde bulundurularak periodontal hastalığın teşhisi ve
tedavisi yapılabilir.

Abstract

Abstract

Periodontitis is an inflammatory disease affecting the
supporting tissues of teeth and one of the most common microbial infections
seen in humans. According to the 1999 classification system for periodontal
diseases and conditions, periodontitis has different types such as chronic and
aggressive periodontitis. The clinical distinction between chronic and
aggressive periodontitis cannot be distinguished clearly. Chronic and
aggressive periodontitis have clinically significant differences such as age of
onset, rates of progression, clinical signs of inflammation, patterns of
destruction, microbiological and histopathological characteristics, genetic and
environmental factors and response to treatment. With regard to these
differences, periodontal disease can be diagnosed and treated accordingly.
