Bu araştırmada, “tarih” ve “tarih eğitimi”nin fert ve millet hayatındaki önemine işaret edildiktensonra, Türkiye ‘deki ilk ve ortaöğretim kurumlanndaki “tarih öğretimi” mercek altına alınmıştır.Özellikle; tarih öğretim metodlan, tarih öğretiminde bilgi teknolojisi kullanımı, müfredat ve buna bağlı olarak hazırlanan tarih ders kitapları ve buralardaki tarih anlayışları, tarih öğretiminde “kavramlar” meselesi konularında mevcut problemler tespit edilerek modem batı ülkelerindeki uygulamalar da dikkate alınarak bazı öneriler geliştirilmiştir.
In this paper, history teaching in Turkish primary and secondary educationalinstitutions hasbeen placed in focus, after ştressing the signifıcanse of “history” and “historyeducation” in individualand national levels.Espacialy fundamental problems of, history teaching methods, information technology usage inhistory teaching, cirriculum, tex books and the historical approach in them, and “consepts” problem inhistory teaching have been discussed along with a number of proposal for possible solitions, incomparison with some applications in modem westem countries.
