Ankara İskitler Bölgesi Geri Dönüşüm İşçilerinin Aktivite ve Rol Profillerinin Belirlenmesi

Abstract

Amaç: Olumsuz çalışma ve barınma koşullarına sahip olan geri dönüşüm işçilerinin aktivitelerinin ve rol profillerinin belirlenmesi, işçilerin sağlığının ve iyi olma hallerinin korunması ve geliştirilmesine yönelik sorunların ortaya çıkarılmasında önemlidir. Araştırma Ankara- İskitler Bölgesi’nde yaşayan, en az 1 aydır işçilik yapan geri dönüşüm işçilerinin aktivite ve rol profillerinin tanımlanması amacıyla yapılmıştır. Gereç ve yöntem: Araştırmada nicel ve nitel araştırma yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini, 700-800 geri dönüşüm işçisi oluşturmaktadır. İşçilerden bir kısmının mevsimsel olarak çalışması, belediye ile problem yaşadıkları için bir derneğe üye olmamaları gibi nedenlerden dolayı tam sayıları bilinmemektedir. Örneklemini ise evrende tesadüfi örnekleme yöntemi ile seçilen ve evrenin yaklaşık olarak 5% ini oluşturan 30 erkek geri dönüşüm işçisi oluşturmaktadır. Veriler araştırmacı tarafından gerekli literatür taranarak hazırlanmış olan soru formu ve hastalık formu, nitel veri toplama amacıyla oluşturulan görüşme soru formu ile Kanada Aktivite Performans Ölçeği (KAPÖ) yapılarak yüz yüze görüşülerek toplanmıştır. Sonuçlar: Geri dönüşüm işçilerinin KAPÖ sonuçlarına göre aktivite performans alanlarından en çok kendine bakım aktivitelerinin önemli olduğu, kendine bakım aktivitelerinden ise en çok banyo yapmanın (9,2±1,6) önemli olduğu tespit edilmiştir. İşçiler için, banyo yapmadan sonra en çok önemli olan aktivitenin telefonla konuşma (9±1,98) olduğu tespit edilmiştir. İşçiler için bu iş “mecburi” yapılan, kötü şartlara sahip, pis ve aşağı seviye bir iştir. Bu durumu en iyi yansıtan ifade: ‘Ölüm, kalım, plastik ’ olmuştur. Tartışma: Geri dönüşüm işçilerinin işçilerin %83,3’ü günde en az 11 saat çalıştığı, %53’ünün kendi işlerine olan bakış açısının olumsuz olduğu, %50’sine göre, toplumun işçilere olan bakış açısı olumsuz olduğu tespit edilmiştir

Determination of Activity and Role Performance of Waste Pickers in Iskitler Region of Ankara

Abstract

Purpose: Identifying the activities and role profiles of waste pickers who have adverse working and housing conditions is important in order to promote the well-being and health of waste pickers and show problems limiting this promotion. The study aims to identify activity and role profile of waste pickers who are doing this job at least for one month in the Iskitler region of Ankara. Material and Methods: Quantitative and qualitative research methods were used in this study. The universe of the study was formed by 700-800 waste pickers. The certain number of waste-pickers isn’t known, because they don’t join the association because of living problems with municipality and working in some seasons. The sample selected by random sampling method in the universe and the universe constitute approximately 5% in 30 male workers constitute recycling. The data was collected through structured questionnaires and diseases form designed by the researcher and through Canadian Occupational Performance Measure (COPM) after doing a careful literature review. The questionnaires were filled through face to face interviews. Results: It is found that the areas of activity performance is more important self-care activities. In the self care activities, take a bath (9,2±1,6) is very important for waste pickers. After take a bath, the second activity is talking on the phone (9±1,98). The job as a waste-piskering is a dirty and compulsory job and this job has a lower level for waste-pickers. The ‘Death, survival, plastic ’ sentence of waste picker was best summed up to waste pickers’ point of view for their job. conclusion: The research shows that 83.3% of the wastepickers worked at least 11 hours, 53% of the waste-pickers has a negative attitude to their own work, 50% of the waste-pickers has a thing that the community have a negative attitude to waste-pickers
