Bizim burada kısa bir makale çerçevesinde tartışmaya çalışacağımız husus, söz konusu bu süreçte halk hayatının sürdürülebilir varlığı ve bu sayede şehirleşme paradoksunun içinde halk kültürünün bir nebze de olsa kendine ait yaşam alanını oluşturma vasıtasıyla, sosyal çözülme ve kimliksizleşmeye karşı, duruş sergileme durumuyla ilgili olacaktır. Bununla birlikte söz konusu bu süreçte halkbilimi disiplininin işe koşulmasına duyulan ihtiyaca dair ulusal ve uluslar arası bazı gelişmeler ışığında bir değerlendirme yapılmaya çalışılacaktır
