                                                                                                <abstract><p>Demiryollarında tarihselsüreçte ciddi anlamda gelişmeler kaydedilmiştir. İlk trenlere nazaran günümüzitibari ile on katın üzerinde hızlara çıkılabilmektedir. Yüksek hızlıdemiryolları söz konusu gelişimin günümüzdeki yaygın üst noktası konumundadır.Ancak yüksek hızlı demiryollarının küresel ölçekte kabul gören tek birtanımından henüz söz edilememektedir. Zira konunun sadece hız değil aynızamanda altyapı, birlikte işletilebilirlik, hizmet parametreleri ve kapasitegibi birden fazla fazı ve değerlendirme kıstası bulunmaktadır. Aynı şekildeyüksek hızlı demiryollarının, yüksek hızlı altyapı, konvansiyonel altyapı,iyileştirilmiş konvansiyonel altyapı gibi farklı arka planlar üzerindehâlihazırda işletiliyor oluşu mevcut durumda tek bir tanıma ulaşmayı dahakarmaşık bir hale getirmektedir. Yüksek hız işletimi kendi içinde dedeğişkendir zira güvenlik başta olmak üzere çeşitli nedenler ile yüksek nüfusyoğun alanlarda işletim hızları 160-180 km/saat’lere düşer iken özel tünelköprülerde de 110 km/saat’lik hız değerleri görülmektedir. Bu çalışmakapsamında ilk olarak yüksek hızlı demiryollarının gelişmişlik düzeyi ortayakonmuştur. Ardından yüksek hızlı demiryollarının araç ve altyapı koşullarıpaylaşılmıştır. Son olarak da Japonya, Fransa, İspanya ve Çin gibi sektörünönemli ülkeleri ile ilgili paylaşımlarda bulunulmuştur. Çalışmanın ana amacıyüksek hızlı demiryollarının yakaladığı teknik ilerlemeyi hizmet parametreleribağlamında küresel karşılaştırmalarla ortaya koymaktır.</p></abstract>

                            <p>Important improvements have beenrecorded in historical periods on railways. Nowadays ten times bigger speeds areprovided in terms of first train samples. High speed railway is actually on thehead point of mentioned improvements. But a unique definition of high speed railwayswhich is accepted on global scale is not exist yet. Because there are not only speedphase and evaluation criteria but also infrastructure, interoperability,service parameters and capacity phases and evaluation criterias that are aforementionedon classification period. Similar to this, the operation of high speed railwayson different techniques with on various infrastructures as high speed,conventional and upgraded conventional brings more complexities on reaching aunique definition on existing case. Operation of high speed is various initself too. The main reason of this is the operational speeds reduce to 160-180km/h on high densely populated areas because of different reasons. One of theseis particularly safety while 110 km/h values are seen on special tunnnels and viaducts.On the context of this paper, firstly the improvement levels of high speed railwaysare executed. Then the vehicle and infrastructure conditions of high speed railwaysare shared. Finally infotmations related to the important countries of the sectoras France, Japan, China and Spain are revealed. The main objective of the paperis revealing the technical imrovement of high speed railways by global comparisonson the context of level of service parameters.</p></trans-abstract>
