<p>Considering HPV-related cancers, HPV vaccines have an important place in primary prevention. In this study, it was aimed to determine the HPV and HPV vaccine knowledge, attitude status and vaccination rates in sixth grade students of a medical school. This is a cross-sectional study which and was conducted in a medical faculty between 1-31 August 2022. The information was collected by online survey method via Google Forms. Data analysis was done with SPSS 21.0 package program. Chi-square test was used in univariate analyzes. Approval was obtained from Ankara University Human Research Ethics Committee. The students were 55.1% female and 44.9% were male, and 8.6% of the students had HPV vaccine. The most common reasons for not getting vaccinated were the high price vaccine (65.4%) and the throught of not being was under risk (13.5%). The percentage of correct answers to information questions about HPV and HPV vaccine was generally above 90%. However, in some questions, these percentage approached 70%. Considering the HPV vaccine attitude questions, 86.4% of the students stated that they wanted to be vaccinated, 97.7% said they would recommend the vaccine, and 89.7% stated that they did not have any reservations about the vaccine. 75.4% of the students wanted to be informed more about HPV and HPV vaccines and stated that this information should be provided through the medical school education curriculum with the highest rate (65.0%). Although the correct answer rates to the HPV and HPV vaccine information questions of the students were high, it was observed that they needed to be informed about some issues. The attitudes of students towards the vaccine were positive despite the low vaccination rates. Based on these, it was recommended to include the HPV vaccine in the routine vaccination program and to provide free application, and to include more information on the subject in the curriculum.</p></trans-abstract>
