Abstract

Maymun çiçeği hastalığı Orta ve Batı Afrika'da endemik olarak görülen viral zoonotik bir hastalıktır. Zaman zaman importe vakalar aracılığıyla endemik olmayan ülkelerde de görülebilen bu hastalık Mayıs 2022 itibari ile küresel bir salgın haline geldi ve 21 Temmuz 2022’de Dünya Sağlık Örgütü tarafından ‘küresel acil durum’ ilan edildi. Çalışmada Maymun Çiçeği Virüsü ile ilgili genel bilgileri derlemek, Türkiye’de ve Dünya’da son durumu raporlamak amaçlanmıştır.

Monkeypox Virus outbreak

Abstract

Monkeypox is a viral zoonotic disease that is endemic in Central and West Africa. This disease, which can be seen in non-endemic countries from time to time through imported cases, has become a global epidemic as of May 2022 and was declared a 'global emergency' by the World Health Organization on July 21, 2022. In this study, it is aimed to compile general information about Monkeypox Virus and to report the latest situation in Turkey and in the world.
