                                                                                                <abstract><p>Bu makale 1890&#039;lı yılların başında Haseki Nisa Hastanesi’nde tedavi edilmiş yedi kadının portrelerini içeren ve bir kopyası Sultan Abdülhamid&#039;e gönderilen bir fotoğraf albümü üstünden geç Osmanlı döneminde tıbbı bakımın nasıl görselleştirildiğini inceliyor. Albümdeki fotoğraflar hastalardan alınan urların patolojisini değil kadınların tekrardan sağlıklarına kavuşmuş olmasını vurgulamak için çekilmişler. Her portredeki ana unsur iyileşmekte olan bir yara izi. Bu albüm olağanüstü bir şekilde röntgen teknolojisinden bile evvel bedenin içinde olan bir cismin görselleştirilmesine de örnek. Bakım ve sağlığın gözle görülür bir şekilde temsilinin hem hastalar hem doktorlar hem de hükümdar için etkilerini sorguluyor bu makale. Ayrıca bu çalışma her şeyi bir anda gördüğümüzü sandığımız fotoğraflardan yola çıkarak her araştırmacının sorduğu soruların keşfedilebilen cevapları nasıl şekillendirdiğini ve görsel ipuçlarını ipucu olarak görebilme sürecini inceliyor.</p></abstract>
