                                                                                                <abstract><p>Kadına ve kız çocuklarına yönelik şiddeti önlemek için erkeklerin rol ve sorumluluklarını ön planaçıkaran, bu şiddetin son bulmasında çözümün bir parçasının erkekler olduğunu düşünen görüşlergiderek önem kazanmıştır. Erkeklerin şiddetin önlenmesine katılımının yollarını sorgularken, herşeyden önce şiddeti nasıl algıladıkları sorusunun cevabının eksik kaldığını görürüz. Kriminolojialanında benimsenen psikososyal yaklaşım, derinlikli ve kapsamlı bir analiz sunduğu nispette, busoruya tatmin edici cevaplar geliştirilmesine imkân sağlayabilir. Hem toplumsal cinsiyetçalışmalarında hem de kriminoloji alanında erkeklik ve şiddet birbirleriyle ilişkilendiriliptartışılmıştır. Bu tartışma doğrultusunda gelişen çeşitli yaklaşımlardan faydalanarak, erkek şiddetininanlaşılması ve önlenmesi açısından psikososyal yaklaşımın sunduğu imkânlar değerlendirilecektir.Son olarak, genç erkeklerin şiddetle ilişkilendirebilecekleri sosyal adalet meselesini bu yaklaşımdoğrultusunda değerlendirerek toplumsal cinsiyet temelli şiddetin kazanabileceği farklı boyutlardakianlamlarla birlikte toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliği lehine radikal bir toplumsal/kültürel değişimin imkânısorgulanacaktır.</p></abstract>
