Malatya’da yaşayanÇingenelerin sosyal sermaye/güven ilişkilerini ele alan bu çalışma,Çingenelerin, sosyal sermaye göstergesi sayılabilecek; yaşadıklarımahallelerdeki Çingene ve Çingene olmayanlarla ilişkilerine odaklanmaktadır.Özellikle Çingenelerin, Çingene olmayanlara güven düzeyleri, Çingeneolmayanlarla ortak iş yapmaya eğilimleri, Çingene olmayanlarla komşulukilişkileri, örgütlenme/dernekleşme çabaları, kendi aralarındaki anlaşmazlıklarıçözme biçimleri, ikamet ettikleri mahallelerden kent merkezine gitme sıklıklarıve psikolojik bunalım/sıkıntılarla baş edebilme stratejileri gibi bazı sosyalsermaye göstergeleri ele alınmıştır. Araştırmada, Çingenelerin hem kendiaralarında hem de yabancılarla ilişkilerinde sosyal sermaye düzeylerinin veköprüoluşturan sosyal sermayenin gerçekleşme ihtimalinin düşük olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır.
This study which addresses the social capital/trustrelationships of Gypsies focuses on relationships between Gypsies andnon-Gypsies that can be an indicator of a social capital. Particularly, certainsocial capital indicators of Gypsies were highlighted such as; their trustlevels for non- Gypsies, tendency to become business partners with non-Gypsies, neighborhood relationships with non- Gypsies, efforts to formorganization/associations, ways of resolving problems occur between each other,frequency of going to the city center from the neighborhoods they live andstrategies to deal with psychological problems/ depression. In the study, itwas revealed that the levels of social capital between each other and also withothers are low and the possibility of realization of social capital that servesa bridge is low.
