The question of the “other” as a distinctively modern question has been conceived as a problem of knowledge, most notably, as the problem of "other minds." The concept of the self originated in the philosophy of Descartes was built on the duality between the mind and the body. It is impossible to found a social science from this non-historical point of view. In this article, we make a distinction between rationality and rationalisation on one hand and paradigm of simplicity and paradigm of complexity on the other. We put forward that the paradigme of complexity forms a historical point of view.
