Abstract

This study involves the evaluation of good and bad in terms of conatus persistence of all things to be in their own being in the way that plays an important role in the ethics of Spinoza. The notion of conatus in Spinoza becomes the driving power of thinking of the ethics that is beyond the satire and judgment, not based on the Scholastic and duty-driven moral values. The persistence and endeavor of the individual to preserve in the existence in the best way has been originally affiliated with the actions leading human to functionality such as preservation, maintenance and strengthen. The ethics depending upon these actions can be read as the ethics of "self-realization". In this scope, the objective of this study is to evaluate the transformation of purposeful, unilateral and duty-driven passive ethics to functional ethics that converts the life of human and society in the Spinoza

SPİNOZA’DA İYİ VE KÖTÜNÜN CONATUS EN İYİ ŞEKİLDE VARLIKTA KALMAKTA ISRAR BAĞLAMINDA DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ

Abstract

Bu çalışma iyi ve kötünün, Spinoza’nın etiğinde önemli bir rol oynayan conatus en iyi şekilde varlıkta kalmakta ısrar düşüncesi bağlamında değerlendirilmesini içermektedir. Spinoza’da conatus düşüncesi, Skolastik ve ödev temelli ahlaki değerlere dayanmayan, yergi ve yargının ötesinde olan etiğin hareket ettirici düşünce gücü olmuştur. Bireyin en iyi şekilde varlıkta kalma ısrar ve çabası, korumak, sürdürmek ve güçlendirmek gibi insanı işlevselliğe sevk eden edimlerle kökensel bir bağlılık içerisindedir. Bu edimlere bağlı bir etik, bir tür “kendini gerçekleştirme” etiği olarak okunabilir. Bu bağlamda bu çalışmanın amacı da ereksel, tek yanlı ve ödev temelli pasif etiğin, Spinoza’da insan ve toplum hayatını dönüştürücü işlevsel bir etiğe dönüşümünü değerlendirmektir
