ORTOPEDİ VE TRAVMATOLOJİ HEMŞİRELERİNİN DEĞİŞEN VE GELİŞEN ROLÜ: FRAKTÜR LİYEZON HEMŞİRELİĞİ

Abstract

Günümüzde sağlık alanındaki bilimsel ve teknolojik yenilikler, hastalıkların önlenmesi ve erken dönemde tedavisine olanak sağlamaktadır. Ayrıca, eğitimdeki ilerlemeler ve yaşam standartlarının yükselmesi, yaşlı nüfusun toplam nüfus içindeki oranını giderek artırmaktadır. Yaşlanmayla birlikte meydana gelen fizyolojik ve psikososyal değişiklikler, kas-iskelet sistemini etkileyerek yaşlı bireylerde, yaşamı tehdit eden düşmeler, kırıklar ve osteoporoz gibi ciddi sağlık sorunlarına neden olmaktadır. Kırıkların ve düşmelerin önlenmesi amacıyla geliştirilen fraktür liyezon hizmetleri, osteoporozun erken tedavisini başlatarak, daha fazla kırık gelişmesini ve düşmeleri önleyerek mümkün olan en iyi hasta bakımını sağlamayı amaçlamaktadır. Son yıllarda giderek önem kazanmakta olan ve kırık riski olan hastaları belirlemek, bireysel değerlendirme yapmak, tedaviyi yönetmek, hastaları, bakımı ve sonuçlarını uzun dönemde takip etmek gibi temel unsurlara sahip fraktür liyezon hizmetlerinin yürütülmesinde ise fraktür liyezon hemşireleri aktif rol oynamaktadır. Bu derlemede, fraktür liyezon hizmetleri, fraktür liyezon hizmetlerinin temel unsurları, fraktür liyezon hemşireliği ve başlıca sorumlulukları hakkında güncel literatür doğrultusunda bilgi verilmesi amaçlanmıştır.
