COVID-19 PANDEMİSİ DÖNEMİNDE BİREYLERİN SAĞLIK BİLGİSİ ARAMA DAVRANIŞLARI: ANKARA İLİ ÖRNEĞİ

Abstract

Bireyler kendileri ve çevresindeki kişilerin sağlıkları için çeşitli kaynaklardan sağlık bilgisi arama davranışında bulunabilmektedir. Kişilerin sağlık bilgisi arama davranışında bulunması, ilaçlara ve hastalıklara karşı alınacak önlemler hakkında daha bilinçli ve daha doğru karar verebilmeleri açısından önem taşımaktadır. Salgın dönemlerinde oluşan kaos ortamlarında kişilerin sağlık bilgilerine zamanında, doğru ve yeterli bir şekilde erişebilmelerinin önemi artmaktadır. Bu nedenle böyle özel dönemlerde bireylerin sağlığa ilişkin bilgi arama davranışları önem kazanmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Covid-19 pandemisi döneminde Ankara’da yaşayan 18 yaş ve üzerindeki kişilerin sağlık bilgisi arama davranışlarını incelemektir. Araştırmada Medlock ve diğerleri (2015) tarafından geliştirilen ve Kilit (2018) tarafından kullanılan ölçekten yararlanılmış ve ölçek pandemi sürecine uyarlanarak anket formu oluşturulmuştur. Anket uygulaması çevrimiçi olarak yapılmıştır. Anketlerden elde edilen verilerin çözümlenmesinde SPSS paket programı kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, Covid-19 pandemisi döneminde katılımcıların sağlık bilgisi arama davranışları ile cinsiyetleri, meslekleri, yaşları ve eğitim düzeyleri arasında istatiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılık olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Literatür taramalarında pandemi sürecinde bireylerin sağlık bilgisi arama davranışlarına yönelik sınırlı çalışmaların olduğu görülmesi ile birlikte bu çalışmanın daha sonra yapılacak olan farklı araştırmalara ışık tutması beklenmektedir.

HEALTH INFORMATION SEARCH BEHAVIORS OF INDIVIDUALS DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC PERIOD: THE CASE OF ANKARA PROVINCE

Abstract

Individuals may seek health information from various sources for the health of themselves and the people around them. It is important for people to be in the behavior of seeking health information in order to be able to make more conscious and more accurate decisions about the precautions to be taken against drugs and diseases. The importance of people's timely, accurate and adequate access to health information is increasing in chaos environments that occur during epidemic periods. For this reason, individuals' health-related information seeking behaviors gain importance in such special periods. The aim of this study is to examine the health information seeking behaviors of people aged 18 and over living in Ankara during the Covid-19 pandemic. In the study, Medlock et al. (2015) and used by Kilit (2018), and a questionnaire form was created by adapting the scale to the pandemic process. The survey application was made online. SPSS package program was used to analyze the data obtained from the questionnaires. As a result of the research, it was determined that there was a statistically significant difference between the health information seeking behaviors of the participants and their gender, occupation, age and education level during the Covid-19 pandemic period. It is expected that this study will shed light on different studies to be conducted in the future, as there are limited studies on the health information seeking behaviors of individuals during the pandemic process in the literature reviews.
