THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SOCIAL GENDER PERCEPTIONS AND FEMALE EMPLOYEE COMMITMENT

Abstract

            Social
gender perception based on the gender perceptions which determine duty,
responsibility and expectations of individuals in a society. Social gender
perceptions is defined as a reference which is used by women while fullfilling
their  resposibilities in their  different areas of life. Work  is accepted as major part of  female’s life in which effect of social
gender perception is sensed. When considered that emplyee’s commitment affects
the performance of organizations female employee’s commitment might  associate with social gender perceptions.
Female employees working in government and private sectors of Sinop and its
districts  are consisting the sample
group of the research. The researcy  frame  is based on spillover theory. Data gathered
from sample was analyzed with an statistical programme. According to the
regression test  results effect of social
gender perception on employee commitment was observed.

Abstract

Toplumsal
cinsiyet algısı bireylerin toplumdaki görev, sorumluluk ve kendilerinden olan
beklentileri belirleyen cinsiyet 
normlarına dayanır. Toplumsal cinsiyet algısı kadınların yaşamın farklı
alanlarındaki sorumluluklarını yerine getirmede kullandıkları referans olarak
tanımlanmaktadır. İş yaşamı toplumsal cinsiyet algısının etkin olarak
hissedildiği bir alan olarak kadınların yaşamında bir yer  kapsamaktadır. Çalışanların adanmışlıklarının
işletmenin performansını etkilediği gözönüne alındığında işgücünün büyük bir
kısmını oluşturan kadın çalışanların adanmışlarının toplumsal cinsiyet algısı
tarafından etkilenebileceği düşünülmüştür. Yayılım kuramı (Spillover Theory)
çerçevesinde kurulan modelin araştırılması için 
Sinop il ve ilçelerinde  kamu ve
özel sektörde ücretli çalışan kadınlardan oluşan örneklem kullanılmıştır.
Örneklemden toplanan veriler bir istatistik programı ile analiz edilmiştir.
Regresyon sonuçlarına göre toplumsal cinsiyet algısının adanmışlığı etkilediği
görülmüştür.
