Year 2010, Volume: 39 Issue: 39, 307 - 320, 01.06.2010

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Ankara’daki devlet üniversitelerinin eğitim fakültelerinde çevre okuryazarlık düzeyinibelirlemek, çevre okuryazarlığı alt boyutları arasındaki ilişkiyi ve bu alt boyutlar üzerinde cinsiyetin etkisini tespit etmektir.Bu amaçla oluşturulan “Çevre Okuryazarlığı Ölçeği” 2007-2008 bahar döneminde Ankara’daki 4 devlet üniversitesininEğitim Fakültelerinde uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler çevre okuryazarlığını belirleyen çevre bilgisi, çevreye yönelik tutum,çevre ile ilgili kullanımlar ve çevre sorunlarına ilgi boyutlarında değerlendirilmiştir. Yapılan betimsel istatistik analizisonuçlarına göre öğretmen adaylarının çevre bilgisi puanları yetersiz düzeydedir. Öte yandan sonuçlar, öğretmen adaylarınınçevre odaklı düşünce biçimine ve olumlu yönde çevresel farkındalığa sahip olduğunu göstermiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlareğitim fakültelerinde uygulanacak çevre eğitiminin içeriği konusuna ışık tutması ve başkentte yapılan bu çalışmanınTürkiye’deki diğer üniversitelere de örnek teşkil etmesi açısından önem taşımaktadır
