Industrialization and growing population rapidly
increase energy consumption. Nowadays, in order to productively utilize the
coal reserves that can supply increasing energy demand to reduce foreign
dependencies, scientific and technological methods must be used. In this
context, it is also necessary to consider environmental factors for effective,
productive and sustainable manufacturing. As Turkish Coal Enterprises operate
eight sub companies, performance criteria for each company have different
values. In such cases, multi criteria decision-making is preferred for
performance evaluation. In this study, it was aimed to examine the performances
of eight sub companies, operated by Turkish Coal Enterprises, using AHP-based
Multimoora and Copras methods. The analyses for the years of 2008-2012
consisted of seven criteria, which are total sales, activity profit, reserves,
number of employees, amount of decoupage, investment spendings and amount of
products.
