                                                                                                <abstract><p>Objectives: This study aimed to investigate whether discharge education given to patients undergoing intertrochanteric femur fracture surgery affects their surgical recovery and readiness for discharge.Materials and Methods: A randomized controlled trial was conducted with 60 patients from the orthopedic clinics of a university and a state hospital in eastern Turkey between May 2023 and July 2024. Data collection tools included a sociodemographic form, the Toronto Wound Symptom Assessment System, the Discharge Readiness Scale, and a Patient Evaluation Form. Data were gathered at four time points: pre-discharge and at the second, fourth, and eighth weeks post-discharge. The intervention group received structured discharge education and a booklet, while the control group received routine care. Follow-ups were conducted via telephone. Statistical analyses included descriptive metrics, chi-square tests, and repeated measures ANOVA.Results: A significant change was observed in surgical recovery scores within both groups over time (p0.05). Similarly, no significant differences were observed between the groups in the mean readiness for discharge score or in any of its sub-dimensions (p&amp;gt;0.05).Conclusion: As a result of the study, it was determined that the discharge education given to patients with intertrochanteric femur fractures did not create a statistically significant difference between the intervention and control groups on the patients&#039; readiness for discharge and surgical recovery processes.</p></abstract>

                            <p>Amaç: Bu araştırma, intertrokanterik femur kırığı ameliyatı olan hastalara verilen taburculuk eğitiminin cerrahi iyileşme ve taburculuğa hazır oluşluk üzerine etkisinin olup olmadığını belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır.Gereç ve Yöntem: Araştırma, Mayıs 2023-Temmuz 2024 tarihleri arasında Türkiye&#039;nin doğusunda yer alan bir üniversite hastanesi ve bir devlet hastanesinin ortopedi kliniklerinde, intertrokanterik femur kırığı ameliyatı geçiren 60 hasta ile randomize kontrollü olarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Veri toplama araçları arasında sosyodemografik bilgi formu, Toronto Yara Semptom Değerlendirme Sistemi, Taburculuğa Hazır Oluşluk Ölçeği ve Cerrahi İyileşme Değerlendirme Formu yer almıştır. Veriler dört aşamada toplanmıştır: taburculuk öncesi, taburculuk sonrası ikinci, dördüncü ve sekizinci haftalar. Müdahale grubuna yapılandırılmış taburculuk eğitimi ve eğitim içeriğini özetleyen bir kitapçık verilmiş, kontrol grubuna ise rutin bakım uygulanmıştır. Takip görüşmeleri telefon aracılığıyla yapılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde tanımlayıcı istatistikler, ki-kare testi ve tekrarlayan ölçümler için ANOVA kullanılmıştır.Bulgular: Girişim ve kontrol grubu hastalarının grup içi taburculuk öncesi, taburculuk sonrası ikinci, dördüncü ve sekizinci haftada cerrahi iyileşme puan ortalamaları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark olduğu saptanmıştır(p0,05)Taburcu olmaya hazır olma öz değerlendirme ölçeği ve alt boyutları arasında girişim ve kontrol grupları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark bulunmamıştır(p&amp;gt;0,05).Sonuç: Araştırma sonucunda intertrokanterik femur kırığı olan hastalara verilen taburculuk eğitiminin, hastaların taburculuğa hazır oluşluk ve cerrahi iyileşme süreçleri üzerinde girişim ve kontrol grupları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark oluşturmadığı belirlendi.</p></trans-abstract>
