The Relationship between Time Management and Leisure Time Satisfaction in Health Sciences Students

Abstract

Objective: This study was planned in an attempt to evaluate the relationship between time management skills and leisure time management. Material and Method: This study was conducted with 325 students. Time Management Inventory and Leisure Time Satisfaction Scale were used to assess students’ time management and leisure activity satisfaction. Students’ leisure time satisfaction and time management skills were compared according to accommodation, grade, and gender. Results: There was positive relationship between time management and leisure time satisfaction (r: 0.351; p: 0.001). Conclusion: It is thought that this study provides information on the relationship between time management and leisure time usage for university curriculum planners, and community health professionals. Inclusion of time management and leisure time usage courses to undergraduate education can help university students to improve their time management skills and increase their participation in leisure time activities which will encourage university students’ to use potential strategies that help to develop healthy and active communities.
