Abstract

Abstract

Disasters are situations in which societies cannot cope with their own resources. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the capacity of the society by preparing for disasters. Determining the vulnerability levels of societies and including them in disaster preparedness plans is important in terms of increasing social capacity. It is thought that the level of interest of societies in disaster education and its field has an important denominator in preparing for disasters. In this study carried out; It has been tried to determine the relevant level of the society through some selected keywords related to the disaster. In the study; In general, a query was made with keywords such as "Earthquake", "Earthquake Prayer", "Earthquake Assembly Area", "Collapse-Trap-Hold", "What to Do in an Earthquake", "What Should Be in the Earthquake Bag", which can determine the level of interest of users in general. It has been determined as a remarkable point that the periods in which the related words are trending in intensity come to the periods when earthquakes are experienced. In addition, it was determined that some words were trending during the weeks organized by the educational activities. As a result; It can be said that societies are generally more sensitive to related issues during and after the event. However, it is clear that more attention should be paid to pre-disaster preparedness studies in order to minimize disaster damage. In this context, it can be stated that the total implementation of pre-disaster preparedness activities will increase resilience.
