With the rapid progress of scientific studies around the world, technology has made progress accordingly. While these developments facilitate lifestyle, they also negatively affect human health. Factors such as the increasing prevalence of ready-made food consumption, unbalanced and irregular nutrition have led to irregular functioning of metabolism. It is very important to consume natural foods to prevent these negatives. Natural and organic foods contain many beneficial compounds in terms of antimicrobial, antioxidant and vitamin content. These compounds have protective, regulatory and nutrient roles in metabolism. Natural nutrients have the ability to block against the oxidative effects of free radicals, such as nitrogen and reactive oxygen, which affect metabolism in a harmful way. Antioxidants in dietary foods, they are called phytochemical antioxidants. Studies on Viburnum opulus L. (Adoxaceae) showed that antioxidants, antimicrobial substances, and various vitamins are present in their content. Antioxidants show their antioxidant effects through free radical binding or singlet oxygen-retaining mechanisms. Viburnum opulus L. water has been found to have a high rate of antimicrobial activity. In this review, antimicrobial, antioxidant and vitamins found in the fruit of the Viburnum opulus L. plant, the effects of the metabolism was evaluated by specifying the properties.
